Roadmap to Establishing
Outpatient Ostomy Services

UOAA believes that access to outpatient ostomy services improves quality of life and ensures an ostomate can achieve goals of care for prosthetic function to maintain physical, emotional, and financial health and wellness. UOAA supports increasing outpatient ostomy services and ostomy clinics to fill the gap in care available to people living with ostomies.

To help ensure ostomates receive continuum of care following stoma creation and/or revision surgery, UOAA has developed guidelines to provide individuals with information and tools on the establishment of outpatient ostomy services. Our hope is that this will increase the likelihood of more outpatient clinics being opened and access to quality ostomy care improved.
