BECOME A MEMBER OF THE PHOENIX SOCIETY!

Every dollar donated to UOAA helps us support the ostomy and continent diversion community—and truly changes lives. Your generosity ensures that individuals and families have access to the education, support, and advocacy they need. We invite you to continue giving at a level that is meaningful to you, and, if possible, to consider increasing your support so UOAA can remain a vital resource for those living with an ostomy now and in the future.

The Phoenix Society was established to recognize individuals whose annual contributions of $500 or more help sustain and strengthen our work year after year. By becoming a member of The Phoenix Society, you play a critical role in advancing UOAA’s mission to promote quality of life for people with ostomies and continent diversions through information, support, advocacy, and collaboration.

  • Donation dollars are accrued on an Annual Calendar basis to determine Donation Levels for that given year.
  • All levels will receive a Thank You Letter from UOAA’s President in the year in which the donations are received.
  • All members of the Phoenix Society will be asked to confirm their level of comfort regarding recognition prior to publicizing their name in any format.

Qualifications to become a Member of The Phoenix Society

Based on a calendar year, beginning on January 1st, and annually thereafter, your donation(s) will be accrued throughout the year and totaled on December 31st (mail postmarked no later than December 31st will be included in the total). Your total dollars donated annually will then be calculated to determine what Level and Benefits listed below you will receive as a member of The Phoenix Society each calendar year.

Recognizing Membership Benefits

Your Member Benefits will be recognized during the following calendar year in which your donations were made. As UOAA’s National Conference is held every other year, on off-conference years, conference benefits will be recognized the following conference year.

Determining your current donation level

You are welcome to contact UOAA at info@ostomy.org to determine the total amount you have donated to the organization during each calendar year. We would be happy to provide you with a detailed report of your contributions to assist you in reaching the level at which you are most comfortable or are striving towards.

Notification

On an annual basis on or around the first of February, you will receive a letter of recognition from UOAA identifying your total financial contribution for the previous year and The Phoenix Society Membership Level and Benefits you have attained.

Every Dollar Counts!

To recognize the importance of all donations, no matter the dollar amount, all Donors will be offered a Donor Colored Ribbon during each Conference Year.

Donations counted annually include

  • Mid-Year and Year-End Appeal Campaigns
  • Giving Tuesday
  • General Donations made throughout the year
  • Matching, Retirement and Major Gifts
  • Tributes & Bequests
  • Give & Get (UOAA Board Donations)
