Part-Time Conference Coordinator
United Ostomy Associations of America’s (UOAA) has a great opportunity for a Conference Coordinator to join our passionate and dedicated team in Biddeford, Maine. This is an in-person or remote position and will be contractual for approximately one year. The starting pay is approximate $20 per hour with a start date of October 1, 2024.
The Conference Coordinator will work closely with UOAA’s Executive Director (ED), Staff, Conference Chair (CC) and members of the Conference Planning Committee (CPC) in planning and executing the organization’s biennial conference. The next scheduled UOAA National Conference is August 14-16, 2025 in Orlando, Florida.
The primary role of the Conference Coordinator will be to organize and plan the event to ensure it is successful and meets the expectations of UOAA’s Board and ostomy community.
The responsibilities will be wide ranging from creating the registration process, working with the expo company, populating the mobile app, assisting members of the Conference Planning Committee and staff with their responsibilities, and providing support at the Conference.
This job requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask.
Requirements include:
- At least 2 years of experience in event planning and coordination
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent project management and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in event management software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as a part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, and travel to different locations
